I don’t get this at all, it makes absolutely no sense. I’m driving down a highway recently (55 mph limit, but I’m going 65), and some jerk zooms up beside me going at least 80. Why? What possible reason would anyone have for going this fast?
Is someone dying? Is there a woman in the car about to give birth? If the answers to these questions are “no”, then SLOW DOWN!! Driving that fast puts you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk. There is no justification for going that fast. If you’re just trying to get to work on time, then you clearly need to work on your time management skills. Here’s a radical concept – how about leaving earlier??
“But Donna,” I hear someone whine. “My schedule is so busy that I don’t have time to leave earlier!” Oh, puh-leese. If your schedule is that busy then perhaps you have too many things going on in your life – so get rid of a few. If you can’t, then it’s your own damn fault for taking on that much stuff in the first place. Find some other way to deal with it than putting my life at risk. Thanks.

Why do people do this? Never having been overly enamored of alcohol, it’s a complete mystery to me. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a drink every now and then, but going overboard and getting fall-down drunk every single weekend seems like a stupid thing to do. It’s not just alcohol, either – folks will use any excuse to overindulge. Food, drink, drugs – you name it, they’ll ingest more and more of it until they get sick. Then, they’ll end up regretting it later because they more than likely acted like total fools while intoxicated. If your life is so bad or boring that you feel you HAVE to do this all the time, perhaps you need to make a few changes. L Ok so she quits her job of being Alaska’s governor before her term is up, but still leaves open a possible Presidential run in 2012? She’s kidding, right? She should be, since she pretty much just flushed her political career down the toilet. Her governorship was due to finish at the end of 2010, which would have left plenty of time to set up a presidential run. Stepping down a year and a half beforehand is not good way to stay in the public eye. How can the public trust her to do a good job as President when she didn’t even stick around to be Governor for the full term? All I can say now is good riddance. My 25-year class reunion was held recently. Twenty-five years!! Scary thought isn’t it. There are some days where high school doesn’t seem like it ended all that long ago, but then on other days it seems like an eternity since I last closed my locker. |
