Appearance – very round & hefty, 2.5”H, mostly green but with one big red section on each apple that covers about a fourth of it.
Taste – This one is tart. That’s about it. It’s not particularly juicy, and is definitely a softer apple, but the tartness – while obvious – is not overwhelming. Consider this one Granny Smith Lite. The softness of it, however, means it might not hold up well for pie baking, but I can see it being perfect for applesauce.
NOTE: This apple is NOT to be confused with another one simply called Rambo. I did some research and there really are two apples named Rambo, and I've seen them sold at the same time, so the season differential in the name might not mean much.
