$2.99/lb Giant Food Stores
Appearance – This was very round and hefty, one of the biggest apples yet, approximately 3.25”H. The flesh was more yellow than white, and has light red-streaked skin w/yellow peeking through in some sections.
Taste – This is very sweet with the tartness more pronounced the more you eat it. It has a nice flavor, crispy but not hard – softer than the Fuji (it’s actually part of Fuji family), and is decently juicy. Overall, I’d say this is a softer variety for those that like sweet apples.
Other Info – This is definitely one of the more expensive varieties, what they call the “designer” apples. Many of them are priced around the same amount, but this was the first one I tried.
